TPS^® multilayer application
The core process of the encapsulation procedure is the application of a butyl-based
thermoplastic adhesive and sealant (TPS^®) in the module edge area. The dry matter
contained in the TPS^® material forms an impenetrable moisture barrier and absorbs
penetrating moisture quickly and reliably.

Encapsulation
Bystronic glass presents the first machine for the application of high-viscous butyl
on the edge of substrate glasses prior to lamination.This procedure effectively
protects the semiconductor against humidity and therefore positively affects the
life-cycle of the module.

Foil free, wafer-based solar module
The development of the TPedge process for the production of modules with
thermoplastic (TP) sealing on the glass edge represents a great innovative leap which
