Before the glass sandwich reaches the pre-heating zone, its thickness and width
are measured and sent to the control system. The calculated values for the
subsequent
transport allow an automatic passage through the heating zones at
speeds between
0,2 and 8,0 m/min. At the same time, thyristors regulate the
infrared radiators, so that the
rays will be perfectly absorbed by the film.
Temperature detectors control the air heater
which serves to warm up the
glass.
Presses I and II now automatically adjust the vertical clearance
to the thickness of the
package and establish the distribution of compression of
the upper press calendars.
Well-balanced heating and regular air evacuation are
thus guaranteed for each package.
